Publish What You Pay Australia is committed to ensuring that citizens of resource-rich countries benefit from their natural wealth. We do this by campaigning for the mandatory disclosure of payments made between extractive industry companies and governments on a country-by-country and project-by-project basis. Publish What You Pay Australia works with Publish What You Pay International and other Publish What You Pay national coalitions as part of the global campaign for greater transparency and accountability in the extractive industries.

Publish What You Pay Australia was formed in June 2011. Our members include Anglicord, the Australian Council for International Development, A Billion Little Stones, Caritas, CAER - Corporate Analysis. Enhanced Responsibility., the Conservation Council of Western Australia, CFMEU-Mining and Energy, Economists at Large, Friends of the Earth Australia, the Global Poverty Project, the Human Rights Law Centre, Jubilee Australia, the Mineral Policy Institute, Oxfam Australia, Tear Australia, Transparency International Australia, SJ Around the Bay and the Uniting Church in Australia.

With increasing numbers of Australian mining, oil and gas companies venturing overseas there is growing global expectation that Australia, as a mining giant, demonstrates leadership on issues of extractive industry governance, and revenue transparency is a critical aspect of this. Publish What You Pay Australia is advocating for the introduction of rules that require extractive industry companies listed in Australia to disclose all payments made to governments in addition to domestic implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.
